HISTORY

Dr. Nicholas had a memorable experience at Queen’s University located in Kingston, ON, where she graduated with Honours from Bachelor of Science degree with Specialization in Environmental Biology. Her Honours project studied the evolutionary origins of injury, inflammation, and regeneration and their potential to revolutionize and improve modern medical treatment of sprains, strains, and inflammatory conditions.

Dr. Nicholas continued her education back in her home province of British Columbia at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine(BINM), a CNME accredited institution. She completed approximately 4800 hours of in-class and observational experience, as well as 1200 hours of hands-on clinical training at a variety of clinics including the Family Naturopathic Clinic, Friends for Life, Katzie Community & Health Centre, Boucher Clinic, and Positive Living BC.

Dr. Nicholas has a passion for fertility medicine and interned regularly with expert Reproductive Endocrinologists and Gynecologists. She is well connected to the Vancouver IVF clinic community and refers her patients to Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) clinics when necessary. In addition, Dr. Nicholas has worked in a variety of different integrated health clinics across the lower mainland over the last five years where she has gained experience with daily clinic operations.

In her final two years of medical training Dr. Nicholas was the Student Representative for AOR, a Canadian based orthomolecular supplement company. Through this experience she expanded her understanding of supplement formulation and the importance of professional brand supplements for the purpose of quality and potency control. Dr. Nicholas has experience doing corporate wellness presentations, small group seminars, and public speaking. She would be honoured to speak at your upcoming event!

While completing her formal education Dr. Nicholas immersed herself in her community and was involved in many humanitarian endeavors. Dr. Nicholas was a project organizer for the Queen’s University Rotaract Club where she travelled to El Salvador for a three-week humanitarian mission. In El Salvador she and twelve volunteers built two homes for influential and deserving families in local villages, volunteered in an orphanage, and visited children at a hospital. Dr. Nicholas was a Recreational Therapy volunteer at Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children, where she worked with young children with critical illness and disability. Most recently, Dr. Nicholas travelled to Ometepe, Nicaragua for two weeks with a medical brigade to offer primary health care to a rural community, and gained invaluable experience in assessing, triaging, and treating patients.

Born and raised in Vancouver, BC Dr. Nicholas has a passion for nature, the outdoors, health, and activity. She is an enthusiastic hiker, camper, skier, and (beginner) golfer, and thrives off time spent where the mountains meet the water. Dr. Nicholas is newly married to her husband Taylor, who works in finance for Invesco Canada. They recently welcomed home their Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever named Jack.
